§ 6-153. Service of complaints.

  • Complaints, notices or orders issued by the inspector pursuant to this article shall be served upon persons either personally or by registered or certified mail; however, if the whereabouts of any person is unknown and the same cannot be ascertained by the inspector in the exercise of reasonable diligence, the inspector shall make an affidavit to that effect, then the serving of such complaint, notice or order upon the person may be made by publishing the same once a week for two successive weeks in a daily newspaper published in the city, service being deemed completed upon the date of the last publication. A copy of any notice, complaint or order served by publication shall be posted in a conspicuous place on the premises affected by the notice, complaint or order on or before the date of the last publication.
