§ 6-3. Permit required for removal and replacement of roofing.

A permit shall be required for the removal and replacement of roofing if the cost of removing roofing exceeds $1,500.00. The application for such permit shall state the disposal site for the replaced roofing, and the designated disposal site shall be included on the face of the permit. The permit shall be issued by the city inspection department. The violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor punishable in accordance with section 1-6. In addition to the criminal penalties provided in this section, a city building inspector is authorized to institute an appropriate action or proceeding to prevent, restrain, correct or abate the violation of this section as well as issue stop orders as provided by G.S. 153A-361.
