§ 4-81. Emergency action.

  • When an animal at large is reasonably believed to present a clear and present danger to the community and attempts to seize the animal are ineffective, an animal control officer or other law enforcement officer may tranquilize the animal in an attempt to facilitate seizure or, if this is not feasible under the circumstances, an animal control officer or other law enforcement officer may destroy the animal.
