§ 38-91. Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to:

(1)

Control and regulate the planting of trees and shrubs;

(2)

Encourage the protection of existing trees;

(3)

Provide attractive views from roads and adjacent properties;

(4)

Screen from view visually undesirable uses;

(5)

Moderate temperatures of impervious surfaces;

(6)

Reduce glare from vehicular use areas;

(7)

Filter vehicle exhaust; and

(8)

Establish procedures for fulfilling these purposes.
