§ 36-99. POTW protection criteria.

No user shall discharge wastewater containing in excess of the following POTW protection criteria concentrations without prior notification and approval from the city. These average concentrations apply at the point where the wastewater is discharged to the POTW collection system. The City of Mebane has the right to establish additional POTW protection criteria at any time it is deemed necessary,

Ammonia       25 mg/l 

BOD       300 mg/l 

COD       750 mg/l 

Chloride       40 mg/l 

Fluoride       1.5 mg/l 

Phosphorus       7.0 mg/l 

TSS       300 mg/l 

Aluminum       2.5 mg/l 

Arsenic       0.01 mg/l 

Cadmium       0.002 mg/l 

Chromium (total chromium)       0.005 mg/l 

Copper       0.05 mg/l 

Cyanide       0.005 mg/l 

Lead       0.01 mg/l 

Mercury—Contact POTW
for current mercury limit.       <0.0002 mg/l 

Molybdenum       0.005 mg/l 

Nickel       0.01 mg/l 

Selenium       0.01 mg/l 

Silver       0.01 mg/l 

Zinc       0.20 mg/l
