§ 24-73. Powers and responsibilities of director.

The director of recreation and parks shall be responsible for the following:

(1)

Administration and supervision of department personnel.

(2)

Administration and supervision of the department of recreation program.

(3)

Organization and conduct of recreation activities.

(4)

Maintenance and upkeep of all areas, facilities and equipment.

(5)

Public information and public relations.

(6)

Representation of the department at local, state and national functions and professional meetings.

(7)

Assistance in the securing of financial support for the department.

(8)

Adherence to department and city policies and regulations.

(9)

Arranging for the preparation of and for keeping current a long range plan of recreation program.

(10)

Such other functions of public regulation and control as may be within the policy of the unit and approved by ordinance.
