§ 20-2. Chief of police.

  • The chief of police shall be the chief executive of the police force; he shall be chargeable with and responsible for the execution of the various rules and regulations of the city council, and the various ordinances of the city government; and all the ordinance rules and regulations of the city, together with the state laws within the city. He shall make regular and stated reports to the city council of the affairs of his department, together with such other matters as pertain to his office or other duties required of him.
